Looking back towards Aston station and Bescot with Long Acre overbridge in the distance on 15th April 1961. The route's four roads are from left to right: down slow, up slow, down fast and up fast whilst to their right we can see an open wagon standing on the line which formed part of the branch to Midland Tar Distillers and the rear entrance to Nechells Gas Works. The bracket signal has two sets of arms spaced much further apart than those seen adjacent to the shed and controlling the up lines as in image 'lnwra2309a'. Because this section of line has four tracks compared to two the wider spacing helps the driver to understand that the signal on the left is for the down slow whereas the signal on the right is for the down fast.
