GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Looking towards the SMJ's line crossing the GWR Stratford - Honeybourne line with Stratford Upon Avon Racecourse platforms on the left. A WD 2-8-0 is seen at the head of a Midlands to South Wales mineral train travelling via Broom and Ashchurch.

The spur seen in this photgraph was intended to shorten the route for such traffic and to allow closure of both the SMJ to the west of Stratford Upon Avon as well as the MR route between Redditch and Evesham. The catch point was installed to trap any runaways as the spur from the GWR to the SMJ was built on a rising gradient.
