Wood End Platform soon after opening in 1907, showing the original timber footbridge, the prefabricated booking office at the top of the cutting and the original oil lamp lighting at the station. The footbridge is entirely of timber construction with the exception of the two supporting steel girders under the entire length of the footway. Note the smoke deflectors over each rail track to protect the timber from locomotive smoke. The booking office appears to be manufactured from modular corrugated asbestos sheets on a wooden framework (probably Eternit Construction), similar to the buildings at Spring Lane, Danzey for Tanworth and Wooten Warren on the same line. Adjacent to the booking office is a grounded timber van body, which presumably is being used for storage.
