Robert Ferris writes, 'the building on the embankment is the booking office and is a similar arrangement to Spring Lane and appears to be of asbestos (Eternit) construction, so is likely to be original. On the up platform there is a second corrugated steel shed probably of later vintage with a round roof, which is probably the parcels lockup or possibly a waiting room (note it has a boiler flue in the roof). The third smaller building with pitched roof on this platform looks to be made from corrugated steel sheeting'.

Robert continues, 'As the door does not face the platform edge this is unlikely to be a passenger facility or the parcel lockup, it may be a store or lamp hut, but this is speculation. On the Stratford side the flat roofed building is, I suspect of a much later vintage than 1908'. The three-car DMU unit standing at the down platform is on a Moor Street to Henley in Arden service and shows that the platform length of West End Platform was longer than the Lakes Halt. On the left is a brick built bunker used to store either ballast or sand and on the right is a Permanent Way hut used by the staff maintaining the line to store equipment.
