GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Tyseley Shed: gwrt2361
Inside Tyseley shed with three locomotives on view, a BR
Standard Class 5MT, an ex-LMS Class 5 and an ex-GWR Manor Class locomotive on
31st January 1965. In front of the BR Standard Class 5 is the operating
platform for the vacuum powered turntable. LMS 4-6-0 Class 5 was built at
Horwich works in May 1944, No 48351 was to remain in service until January 1968
when it was withdrawn from 9E Trafford Park shed. British Railways 4-6-0
Standard Class 5MT No 73035 was built by Derby works in August 1953 and was to
remain in service until January 1968 when it was withdrawn from 9H Patricoft
shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Newport. Ex-GWR 4-6-0 78xx Class No 7818
'Granville Manor was built at Swindon works in January 1939 and remained in
service until January 1965 when it was withdrawn from 89C Machynlleth shed to
be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge.
