GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Small Heath and Sparkbrook Station: gwrsh1087

GWR 2-6-2T No 4167, a class 51xx 'Large Prairie' locomotive, is seen arriving at Small Heath's main down platform on a Leamington to Snow Hill service. Built under the newly established British Railway's authority at Swindon works to Lot 369 in October 1948 No 4167 remained in service until May 1964 when it was withdrawn from Tyseley shed to be scrapped during September 1964 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
