Looking towards the parcels enclosure from the island platform with the parcels office on the left and refreshment room on the right. The large double doors to the parcels office are partially visible on the left. Parcels traffic was not just limited to small boxes wrapped in brown paper but actually included loads of up to one ton in weight. Perishable and non-perishable items for local shops formed the bulk of most of the traffic received at Stratford on Avon station. Fish for Kinman Fishmongers of the High Street, crumpets for JJ Mitchell & Son of Wood Street and stock for FW Woolworth's are just a few examples.

The the intricate fascia board to canopy has been sawn off leaving just a little evidence of the stylised finish. This must have been because of the damage and disrepair that was also evident in image 'gwrsa1494' however this must have been subsequently replaced as in image 'gwrsa508a' the facia board is seen in its entirety. This is proved by comparing the above photograph which shows the station sign suspended above the parcels enclosure being of GWR origin (which dates the photograph as pre-1952) compared to the sign seen in image 'gwrsa508a' which is a British Railways corporate sign (erected in 1954).
