GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

View of the island platform looking towards Wilmecote as an ex-GWR Diesel Railcar stands in the bay platform with its doors wide open in the mid-1950s. Diesel Railcars had been operating between Leamington Spa and Stratford on Avon station since the spring of 1941 when two such cars had been briefly allocated to Stratford on Avon shed. This service became more extensive when from November 1942 two Diesel Railcars were allocated to Leamington Spa shed. Beneath the station sign an unknown locomotive can be seen marshalling vans in the siding next to the livestock market.
