GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

View of Solihull station looking towards Birmingham showing the use of mixed gauge on the main line. The station buildings are relatively new dating from the opening of the line just over a decade earlier. The photograph also predates the installation of signal boxes which brought together in one place the various levers that operated the station's points and signals. In the view above one of the hand operated levers can be seen which operated the points providing access to the down refuge siding.
