GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

GWR Guard Denstone, wearing his frock coat, walks back to his guard van ready to wave the train off circa 1900. The two gentlemen are noted on the rear of the postcard as being 'two Solihull worthies'. Whether this is true or not is unknown but what is apparent is that the coach is a Third Class carriage. The communication cord is visible running in eyelets along the outside of the carriage on the gutter line. The station porter is walking along the carriages checking that the slam shut doors are closed with the handles in their correct position.
