Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 5099 'Compton Castle' heads the 2:10pm Paddington to Birkenhead as it picks up water on 29th July 1962. Built by Swindon works to Lot 358 in May 1946 No 5099 was to remain in service for less than a year being withdrawn in February 1963 from 85B Horton Road shed in Gloucester.
