Another internal view of operating floor of Queens Head Signal Box showing the centre and right of the frame next to the entrance to the signal box. The part of the frame closest to the photographer contains the three levers for the remaining Goods Yard route indicator:

Lever 21 - Shunt Spur
Lever 22 - Up Main Line
Lever 23 - Up Relief Line

These are followed by three levers each operating a combined switch (point) and locking bolt (levers painted Black and Blue). Other levers in the centre of the frame controlled the switches and signals at the northern end of Soho & Winson Green Goods Yard while the four at the far end of the main frame controlled the Down Main and Relief line signals. There is also an additional four lever frame of a different type at the end of the main frame which controlled the switches and signals associated with a down goods loop to Handsworth & Smethwick.

Each of the levers were colour coded to signify their purpose:
Red – Stop Signals
Yellow – Distant Signals
Black – Switches (Points)
Blue - Locking Bolts
Black and Blue - Facing Point (combined Switch and Lock)
Black with white chevrons - Detonator placer
White - Spare lever
