This engraving shows the two bridges at Olton. In the foreground over the canal reservoir is a simple iron plate girder bridge on cast iron pillars adjoining a length of wooden viaduct. In the background is the bowed balloon-top wrought iron plate bridge, which was built over the Warwick to Birmingham Turnpike road.
