GWR Route: Moreton-in-Marsh to Shipston-on-Stour

Moreton-in-Marsh to Stratford upon Avon Tramway: gwrmt3116

A view from the southern end of the tramway bridge, looking towards Shipston-on-Stour, during the very hot summer of 1899. The photograph provides us with an idea of a typical stretch of the tramway as it would have appeared prior to 1900. The track was deep ballasted to provide a good surface for the horses, and the shine on the rails indicates that this section of the line was still in use.
