The high level goods shed nearing completion in December 1913. The shed was four hundred feet long with two bays. Under the narrower left hand bay was a rail siding and the transhipment platform, while on the right is a wide cartway / loading area with a granite set floor and a second rail siding. The two long sidings, platform and cartway were provided to facilitate the speedy transfer of market produce and although the shed provided some protection from inclement weather, it was more important to ensure the area was well ventilated in summer. This was achieved by the wide gap below the corrugated sheet cladding on both sides. On the cartway floor can be seen some prefabricated wooden panels for a small internal office building as well as various construction materials.
