Another view of the original 1859 station building and platform taken after closure of the station with platform edges cut back. The pathway from the level crossing to the signal box can be seen running alongside the tracks complete with timber framed posts and handrails. The cantilevered Great Western Railway lower quadrant signal sited at the end of the down platform, as seen in image 'gwrm591a', has been replaced by a British Railways upper quadrant signal mounted on top of a tubular steel post.
