An unidentified GWR 2301 Class 0-6-0 locomotive is seen being turned on Leamington shed's turntable circa 1908. The 2301 Class also known as the Dean Goods Class was a class of 260 locomotives built between 1883 and 1899 by the GWR at their Swindon works to a design of William Dean. The 2301 class broke with previous GWR tradition in having only inside frames. The first twenty engines were originally domeless though all were provided with domed boilers in due course. They were numbered from No 2301 to No 2360 and No 2381 to No 2580. The missing numbers from 2361 to 2380 were allocated to the 2361 class, which were similar visually but with outside frames.
