GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Leamington Spa Station: gwrls2084
A pair of GWR steam cranes, with a girder suspended between
them, are seen stabled in the carriage sidings alongside Leamington Engine shed
circa 1906. The steam cranes and girder would remain at the sidings until the
possession period, when the railway is fully or partially closed and normally
over a weekend, commenced. The girder is part of the original Brunel bridge
which was dismantled in 1907. See image 'misc_equip203' for more information on the
steam cranes and match trucks.
