British Railways built 4-6-0 No 7912 'Little Lingford Hall' leaves the Stratford on Avon branch for Birmingham Snow Hill circa 1962. Built at Swindon works to Lot 368 in March 1950 No 7912 was a Modified Hall design and remained in service until October 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2D Banbury shed. The up loop line can be seen on the left. Hatton North Junction was opened in 1897 prior to the opening of the North Warwickshire Line. After the North Warwickshire Line was opened the North Junction was still used, primarily but not exclusively for excursion traffic. Bob Pixton notes in Great Western Steam in Shakespeare Country that the 1960 timetable showed the 8:32am from Stratford on Avon would have called at Bearley and Claverdon and then Solihull before arriving at Snow Hill at 9:18am. When the siding on the left was converted in 1901 from a refuge siding to a loop line, the GWR also added the loop line seen above to the right of the train.
