GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Hall Green Station: gwrhg3881
Ten carefully packaged Velocette KTT Mk3 motorcycles
destined for the Isle of Man TT race are being loaded on to a carriage wagon
(telegraphic code Python) in the Hall Green Good's Yard in May 1933. This
raised loading platform in the Goods Yard was at the rear of the Motorcycle
manufacturing works located at the corner of Cateswell Road and York Road, Hall
Green (see map 'gwrhg2928') and it provided
convenient access for dispatching the finished products. Veloce had taken over
these works in 1927 from Humphrey and Dawes, who had previously made OK Junior
motorcycles there (see 'gwrhg1786'). Details and a
photograph of Python carriage wagons can be found at 'misc_bsa&singer181'.
