A view along the platform at Claverdon Station towards Hatton on 5th September 1931, showing the 1860 station building. Notice the sign advertising public telephone facilities and the post box in the end wall, this was removed several years prior to the station being reconstructed (see gwrc12a). An abnormally long line of open wagons can be seen in the loop siding adjacent to the loading bank. This siding is not recorded in the official Service Time Tables (STT) of the period as being available as a refuge siding, so this may be a local goods train exchanging wagons. Ten minutes was allowed for this in the STT.
