Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44188 and ex-GWR 64xx Class 0-6-0PT No 6435 head into Snow Hill on their way to head an SLS special

Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44188 and ex-GWR 64xx Class 0-6-0PT No 6435 head into Snow Hill on their way to head an SLS special on 24th April 1965. As indicated by the shed name on the buffer beam, No 44188 was allocated to Bescot shed. Built in April 1925 by St Rollex works in Scotland, No 44188 was to remain in service until November 1965 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped from 2F Bescot shed. The ex-GWR locomotive had been built by Swindon works to Lot 305 in April 1937 and remained in service until October 1964 when it was withdrawn from 72C Yeovill shed for preservation, in which form she is seen above.
